IAO Consulting helps small businesses identify and fix the gaps between strategy, sales, marketing, people, processes and execution—so the business runs better, grows smarter and stops relying on guesswork.

Growing businesses rarely struggle because people aren't working hard enough. Growth exposes gaps—between strategy and execution, sales and marketing, people and process, technology and the way work actually gets done.
IAO Consulting helps small businesses find those gaps, determine what's creating the greatest impact and build practical systems to fix them.

I've spent 20+ years working across sales, marketing, technology and business operations—from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses where every dollar, decision and hour matters.
Along the way, I've led growth initiatives, improved sales performance, built operating processes, connected sales and marketing, eliminated wasted effort and helped teams turn complicated business problems into clear, executable plans.
That experience led me to build MomentumOS—a practical business operating system designed to find the gaps between strategy, people, process, sales, marketing and execution, then help businesses fix what matters most.
I'm also a U.S. Marine veteran, which probably explains my bias toward clarity, accountability and getting things done.
No cookie-cutter consulting. No 47-page strategy deck collecting dust. Find the problem. Build the solution. Measure the result.
Find the Real Problem
The problem making the most noise isn't always the problem costing you the most money. I look across sales, marketing, operations, people, process and performance to find where things are actually breaking down.
Connect the Business
Businesses don't operate in silos. Sales affects operations. Marketing affects sales. Process affects people. Strategy means nothing without execution. I focus on the connections between them—because that's often where growth gets stuck.
Build What Actually Works
No bloated transformation plan. We prioritize what matters, build practical systems around the way your business actually operates and measure whether the changes are producing results.

Finding the Gaps Behind a Revenue Shortfall
Conducted a deep-dive analysis into the business, revenue projections, and actual earnings—uncovering critical disconnects holding the company back. Instead of just identifying problems, I delivered a high-impact strategy, categorizing these gaps into three major initiatives. Each initiative was backed by targeted sales activities designed to create momentum, accelerate pipeline velocity, and close revenue shortfalls.
The result? A clear, actionable path to sustainable growth and stronger financial performance. Simplified the challenges with effective strategies.
Using Account Data to Identify a 30% Incremental Revenue Opportunity
Cracked open the account sets, industries, and trends to pinpoint the high-impact moves. We identified key areas of opportunity for the sales team to zero in on—paving the way for a 30% boost in incremental revenue. This wasn’t guesswork; it was strategy at its most relentless.
The result? A simple strategy that was trackable, providing visibility and clarity. This provided clear and achievable actions for the team- which built momentum.
Turning Market Intelligence Into Actionable Growth Opportunities
By leveraging deep market intelligence and company trends, I conducted a comprehensive analysis to identify high-impact opportunities and critical risk factors. This strategic assessment provided the business with a clear roadmap for growth while proactively mitigating threats that could derail long-term success. The results enabled leadership to make data-driven decisions, capitalize on emerging opportunities, and implement safeguards against potential disruptions.
The result? Opportunities identified for the team to act proactively rather than reactively. This allowed the teams to talk naturally about the trends, whats to come and how to mitigate it.
Reducing Low-Value Sales Activity to Improve Revenue Productivity
Conducted a deep dive into sales behaviors, uncovering a critical inefficiency—too much time wasted on low-converting products and ineffective quoting strategies. This misalignment was capping revenue potential and dragging down overall performance. By identifying these bottlenecks, I provided strategic adjustments that reallocated time and effort toward higher-value opportunities, unlocking untapped revenue and streamlining the sales process for maximum impact.
The result? More time to value, less time wasted and faster revenue generation. It wasn't about the actions, or the tools, it was the materials- once we changed that- the performance increased
Building Sales Playbooks for More Consistent Execution
The problem wasn't that the sales team couldn't sell. They needed a better way to work together and have the right conversations in a complex, competitive market.
Working closely with sales leadership, I built and refined industry-specific sales playbooks around real customer conversations—what to ask, what to listen for, how to position the solution, how to handle competition and how each person on the team could help move the opportunity forward.
The goal wasn't to give everyone another script. It was to create a repeatable sales process that gave the team the tools, messaging and confidence to execute consistently.
The result? A more confident and coordinated sales team that knew how to work together—set 'em up and knock 'em down.
Connecting Marketing and Sales to Improve Lead ROI
The problem wasn't simply that marketing wasn't working. Leads were coming in, but there wasn't enough clarity around what happened next, which leads mattered and whether marketing activity was actually turning into revenue.
I partnered directly with marketing and sales to dissect the inbound lead process from end to end—targeting, lead quality, qualification, handoff, follow-up and conversion. We exposed the weak spots, tightened the connection between the teams and created clearer accountability around how leads moved through the pipeline.
Instead of measuring marketing by activity alone, we focused on qualified opportunities, conversion and revenue.
The result? Clarity between sales and marketing. Clarity built trust. Trust built confidence. Confidence built revenue.

Start with the areas creating the greatest impact on revenue, customers, efficiency and your team's ability to execute. The loudest problem isn't always the most important one.
Before adding another initiative, step back and look across the business. Where are results falling short? Where is work getting stuck? What keeps coming back? Finding those gaps makes it much easier to separate what's urgent from what actually matters.

Efficiency isn't about getting people to work faster. It's about removing the wasted steps, bottlenecks, rework and unclear ownership that make good people work harder than they should.
Look at how work moves from one person or department to another, where decisions stall, what gets done manually and which problems keep repeating. Fix the friction first. Automation comes second.

Don't just look at expenses. Businesses lose money through wasted time, poor conversion, unnecessary rework, slow processes, missed follow-up, underused technology and opportunities that never make it across the finish line.
Start by following the flow of work and revenue—from marketing and sales through delivery and retention. The gaps between those areas often expose costs you won't find staring at a P&L.

Marketing is working when you can connect activity to qualified opportunities, customers and revenue—not just impressions, clicks or likes.
Track where leads come from, whether they're the right leads, what percentage become opportunities, how many convert to customers and the revenue generated by each source. If marketing is creating activity but sales isn't converting it, the problem may not be marketing at all. The gap could be between marketing, sales and follow-up.
